Rincón de Andrea

Andrea is a baker. She loves her work and you can see it. She saw a drawing on my old website and thought it would be nice to use it for her brand. So she contacted me and we developed a design concept for her small family enterprise. The baking girl is now part of her project, she has a new logotype, stickers and stationery.

“El Rincón de Andrea” takes new forms and colors, grows. But it keeps the self-made-flavor. I’m very happy to be a part of her dreams. Andrea, thanks for trusting in me!

Andrea es pastelera de vocación. Ama lo que hace y se nota. En mi antiguo sitio encontró un dibujo que le gustó. Me preguntó si podía convertirse en imagen de su marca, una pequeña y cuidada empresa familiar con ganas de crecer. Armamos juntas el concepto de diseño. La reposterita se transformó pronto en su compañera. Hicimos su logotipo y su papelería.

“El Rincón de Andrea” toma nuevas formas y colores, manteniendo el aroma casero. Estoy muy feliz de poder acompañarla a cumplir su sueño. Por eso, Andrea, gracias por haber confiado en mí!

Vacaciones con Aspirina

Some weeks ago I got the package with the new books I’d illustrated . “Vacations with Aspirina” -that’s what the little white dog on the cover is called- is in the bookstores and I’m very happy! Thanks to the publishers  and writer for trusting in me. It’s been great working together!

Ya hace algunas semanas me llegaron los libritos que tuve la suerte de ilustrar. “Vacaciones con Aspirina” -ese es el nombre del pequeño y blanco perrito de la tapa. está en las librerías y yo, muy contenta! Gracias a la editorial y a la escritora por haber confiado en mí. Ha sido un gusto trabajar con ustedes!

Pilates

You’ve probably seen this illu before. Well, it happens sometimes: a client saw something I’ve done and asks if it would be possible to use my drawings for a particular purpose, like flyers, banners, buttons, magazine covers, events… Some small changes and this maybe the result. And you know, I love doing pilates!

Seguramente viste esta imagen con anterioridad. A veces sucede: un cliente ha visto una de mis ilustraciones y me pregunta si sería posible usarla para sus propósitos particulares, como flyers, banners, botones, tapas de revistas, eventos… Algunos pequeños cambios y éste puede ser el resultado. Y vos sabés cuánto me gusta hacer pilates!

The Collective Art Exhibition at CCR from the Illustrators Forum has begun! Ten short stories from Roberto Arlt are the excuse to show the art of 250 illustrators. They are wonderful, different, creative, some are jolly others cruel, ironic or naive. Just as the illustrator interpreted the tale, using their style, their materials, their imagination.

Guess what? This is my contribution. It’s about the short story titled: “A Chair on the Sidewalk”, in which Arlt talks about the Buenos Aires habit of meeting in the street, sitting down and having a chat with the neighbours or complete strangers.  I’m happy to be there, too!

Comenzó la muestra del Foro de Ilustradores en el CCR! Solamente 10 relatos cortos de Roberto Arlt han sido la excusa para reunir a 250 ilustradores. Son maravillosas, diferentes, creativas, algunas felices y otras crueles, irónicas o ingenuas. Simplemente, como el dibujante haya interpretado a los cuentos, usando su estilo, sus materiales e imaginación.

Adivina qué? Esta es mi contribución.  Es sobre el cuento de Arlt:  “Silla en la Vereda”,  en el cual  se habla del hábito de los porteños de encontrarse en las calles, sentarse y compartir un rato con vecinos o extraños paseantes. Estoy contentísima de estar también allí!

Aviso de exposición en el Centro Cultural Recoleta

Very good news, everybody! Buenos Aires has been elected as  World Book Capital  in 2011. To celebrate it, the Illustrators Forum has organized an exhibition at the Centro Cultural Recoleta. It is inspired by texts of Roberto Arlt, whose work represents perfectly the spirit and mood of the city at his time.

I have the honour to participate with one of my illustrations, among so many other marvellous pictures of artists I admire. I’m very exited about it! Here is the invitation flyer, with logo from Pablo Zweig.  Shortly I’ll show you the piece I created. If you are in Buenos Aires, please don’t miss the show, it will be really great!

Excelentes noticias para todo el mundo! Buenos Aires fue elegida como Capital Mundial del Libro en el 2011. Para celebrarlo, el Foro de Ilustradores ha organizado una exposición en el Centro Cultural Recoleta. La muestra se inspira en textos de Roberto Arlt, uno de los escritores que mejor representa al espíritu de la ciudad en su tiempo.

He tenido el honor de participar con una de mis ilustraciones, que colgará entre otras maravillosas de artistas a quienes admiro. Estoy realmente contenta al respecto! Aquí está el folleto de invitación, con el logo de Pablo Zweig. En unos días les mostraré a mi dibujo. Si estás en Buenos Aires, por favor no dejes de visitar la exposición, será fantástica!

I’m really happy to show you one of the illustrations I’ve been working on lately. This time it is a book for children between 9-12 years old, called “Vacaciones con Aspirina” (Vacations with Aspirin) written by Maria Brandán Aráoz. By the way, it has nothing to do with medicine! The dog you see above is called like that.  Uranito will publish it and hopefully it will be in the bookstores quite soon. It’s been great fun doing it.

Estoy realmente feliz de mostrarles una de las ilustraciones en las que estuve trabajando últimamente. Esta vez, es para un libro para chicos de 9 á 12 años, llamado “Vacaciones con Aspirina”, escrito por Maria Brandán Aráoz. A propósito, no tiene nada que ver con medicinas! El perrito que ven encima, es llamado de esa manera. Uranito lo editará y con un poco de suerte, estará pronto en las librerías. Ha sido un placer dibujarlo.
